The Art of Creating Custom Maps on Google My Maps

Discover how to create and share your own custom maps on Google My Maps.

Getting Started

Create a Custom Map

Create your custom map by clicking on the "Create" button, selecting an image or shape from Google My Maps' library, and editing the properties.

To create a custom map, you'll need to have the Google My Maps API enabled in your account. You can enable it through the Google Cloud Console.

Customize Your Map

Once your map is created, you can customize it by adding markers, shapes, and labels. You can also use the "Properties" panel to edit the map's settings.

To add a marker, select an image or shape from Google My Maps' library, and then click on the "Markers" button in the top left corner of the screen.

Share Your Map

Finally, you can share your custom map with others by sharing it through a link to the Google My Maps page or by uploading it as an image to the web map.
