Option 1: Using an Existing Location: First, open Google My Maps by searching for "Google My Maps" in the search bar and clicking on it. Click on the map you want to create a custom map from, then select "Create Map" from the menu dropdown.
Option 2: Using a Website: Visit the website of your chosen location or domain and right-click on the map to open the context menu. Select "Copy link" or "Share link" to share it with others, then paste it into Google My Maps.

Adding Custom Symbols: Once your map is created in Google My Maps, you can add custom symbols by clicking on the "Add symbol" button and selecting a symbol from the dropdown menu.
