Creating and Sharing Your Own Custom Maps on Google My Maps
Create a custom map in your Google My Maps account by following these steps:
- Go to the Google My Maps website and log in with your account credentials.
- Create a new map by clicking on the "New" button at the top right corner of the screen.
- In the "Create a custom map" section, click on the "Add shape" dropdown menu and select "Polygon" or "Line" depending on your needs.
- Drag and drop shapes around to create your desired layout. You can also use the "Polyline" feature to draw paths between multiple points.
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner of each shape and select "Remove" to delete them.
- After creating all the shapes, click on the "Share" button at the bottom left corner of the screen and choose your desired sharing method (e.g., public or private).
To share your custom map with others, follow these additional steps:
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner of each shape and select "Edit" to edit its settings.
- In the "Map settings" section, click on the "Sharing" tab.
- Select your desired sharing method from the dropdown menu and confirm.
- Copy the link for your custom map by right-clicking on it and selecting "View page source". This link can be used to share your map with others or view it in other Google My Maps instances.
