Creating a Map from Scratch
Want to create a map from the ground up? Start by going to the Google My Maps website ([https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1nQ7vp82SwYSDSil6ELIvJT7z5BqHVbBT](https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1nQ7vp82SwYSDSil6ELIvJT7z5BqHVbBT)) and click on the "Create a new map" button.
Choose your map type (e.g. street, road, satellite) and customize it to your liking using various tools such as markers, labels, and shapes.
"Custom" Mode
Want to take your map to the next level? Go into "Custom mode" by clicking on the three dots next to your map title and selecting "Edit." From there, you can add custom markers, labels, and shapes.
NOTE: Custom mode only works in Google My Maps 5+ versions.
