Creating a Custom Map on Google My Maps

Create your own map using Google My Maps. This tool allows you to create customized maps from scratch, adding markers, shapes, and labels to any location or range.

  1. Open the Google My Maps account you created or sign in to an existing one.
  2. Click on the "Create a new map" button at the top of the screen.
  3. Choose your map type, such as point, polygon, or satellite, and select a location for your map (e.g., a specific street address or city).
  4. Add markers to mark specific locations on your map by clicking and dragging on the map. You can also add custom markers with additional information.
  5. Use shapes to draw boundary lines around areas you'd like to include in your map (e.g., roads, parks, or cities).
  6. Add labels to provide context for each location marked on your map by typing in the address and clicking "Done".

Share Your Custom Map with Others

Want to share your custom map with others? Simply click on the "Download as image" button next to your map, or right-click and select "Print". Then, you can save it to your device or share it via email or social media.
