Creating and Sharing Your Own Maps on Google My Maps

Creating and sharing your own maps on Google My Maps is a versatile and interactive way to showcase geographic information, collaborate with others, or share specific locations.

Google My Maps allows users to create custom maps with various tools and features. To get started, navigate to the Google My Maps website (Google My Maps Viewer).

To create a new map, click on the "New Map" button at the bottom right corner of the screen. Alternatively, you can search for a specific location by typing its address or name in the search bar.

A new window will open with various tools and features to customize your map. You can add markers, polylines, and overlays to display different types of data. Use the "Add marker" button to insert custom markers, while the "Add polyline" tool allows you to create custom routes or lines.

Once you have added all the necessary data, click on the "Save" button to save your map as a new file. You can then share your map by clicking on the three vertical dots next to the Save button and selecting "Share." Choose from various sharing options, including emailing the link or saving it to Google Drive.

Sharing your map with others is also possible. Select the "Edit" option instead of sharing when creating a new map, and you'll be able to share your map with specific individuals or teams.
