The COVID-19 pandemic has brought numerous challenges to various industries, including emergency and maintenance plumbing services. In Victoria, a city experiencing another wave of cases, Fix-It Right Plumbing continues to operate despite the difficulties. According to reports, the challenges faced by these services are multifaceted and require innovative solutions. One major issue is the need for increased staff training on infection control measures, such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established protocols for handling waste and biohazardous materials. Another challenge is the strain on resources, including water and energy costs, which can be substantial during peak periods. Moreover, there are concerns about the availability of skilled labor, particularly in areas with high demand. Despite these challenges, Fix-It Right Plumbing has been adapting to the changing landscape by implementing new technologies and procedures, such as installing automated flushing systems to reduce the risk of contamination.
