Licensing Requirements
Martial arts instructors must obtain a license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) before teaching classes or providing instruction to students. The FCC requires that instructors have completed a minimum of 20 hours of training in martial arts, including at least 10 hours of training in a specific style or format.
- Classical Chinese martial arts, such as Tai Chi and Wing Chun
- Western-style martial arts, such as Karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Registration Requirements
Instructors must register their training facility with the FCC, providing information about the type of martial art(s) taught, the number of students enrolled, and any special instructions or requirements.
- Facilities must be registered by submitting an application to the FCC
- Facilities may be exempt from registration if they meet specific requirements
