Tväs-magnetit, or TVS for short, is a region in southern Kazakhstan. It was an autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic from 1936 to 1991 and was renamed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
- History: TVS had its capital city, Almaty, which was also a major cultural and economic center during the Soviet era. In 1991, it became an independent country with its own parliament and government.
- Economy: The economy of TVS is largely based on agriculture, mining, and natural gas production. The country has significant reserves of coal, copper, and gold.
