The city of Adelaide in South Australia has seen a significant increase in plumbing-related issues over the past year. The Australian Plumbing Industry Association (APIA) reported that there was a 25% rise in complaints about blocked drains and burst pipes.
Experts attribute this rise to a combination of factors, including rising temperatures and an increased demand for hot water systems. As the weather warms up, homes and businesses are using more hot water, leading to a higher risk of blockages and pipe bursts.
"It's not just about fixing blocked drains or burst pipes," says APIA spokesperson, Sarah Johnson. "It's about ensuring that homeowners and businesses have access to reliable and efficient plumbing systems that can withstand the demands of modern living."
