Our Office of Sustainability is proud to support Bike Month in Dallas County.
As part of our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability, we are hosting a bike month competition. The goal is to encourage students, faculty, and staff to participate in cycling activities on campus and around the city.
Bike Month Competition Rules:
- Participants must register by March 1st with a valid bike-related activity (e.g., ride, donation to charity, or community service).
- The competition will have three categories: Recreational Rides, Commuter Rides, and Fundraising Rides.
- Awarded prizes for the top riders in each category, including a bike, gift cards, and recognition on campus.
Sustainability Facts:
Bike-friendly features on our campus include designated bike lanes, secure bike storage areas, and a bike-sharing program.
- Our goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation by at least 20% within the next year.
- We offer workshops and events on sustainable transportation options and cycling safety.
