Early Life and Career of Peter O'Brien as a Drummer
Peter O'Brien is an American drummer, best known for his work with the rock bands Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest. Born on June 19, 1954, in New York City, O'Brien grew up in a musical family and was exposed to various genres from an early age.
After attending Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, O'Brien began drumming at the age of eight. He played drums in local bands and eventually joined his older brother Phil's band, The Bluesbreakers, with whom he toured extensively throughout Europe.
In 1974, O'Brien joined Thin Lizzy, a British rock band that would go on to achieve significant commercial success. As the band's drummer, O'Brien played an integral role in their music and helped shape their unique sound. He remained with Thin Lizzy until his retirement from touring in 2007.
After leaving Thin Lizzy, O'Brien went on to join Judas Priest, one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history. As a member of Judas Priest, O'Brien played drums on several albums and toured extensively with the band, contributing to their success and cementing his reputation as a talented drummer.
