In May, thousands of educators and industry professionals gathered at the Hilton New Orleans River Center to attend one of the largest annual conferences in the education technology sector – ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) 2023.
The conference, which took place from June 8-11, brought together experts, innovators, and thought leaders from around the world to share their latest ideas, research, and best practices in the field of education technology. This year's edition featured over 30,000 attendees, making it the largest ISTE event ever.
One of the main focuses of this year's conference was on data analytics and its applications in education. The theme "Data Matters" highlighted the importance of harnessing data to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes. Panel discussions, workshops, and keynote addresses addressed topics such as using technology to personalize learning, developing AI-powered tools for education, and creating interactive simulations.
"The future of education technology is all about using data to drive innovation and improvement," said Dr. Rachel Simmons, a leading expert in the field of education technology. "We are seeing an explosion of new technologies, from virtual and augmented reality to artificial intelligence, that are transforming the way we teach and learn."
The conference also honored outstanding individuals and organizations with awards for their contributions to education technology. One notable recognition went to the "EdTech Product of the Year" winner, which was announced as a pioneering new tool for creating immersive learning experiences.
