What I Did On My Sabbatical: By Shelly Furuness Making Practice Public
I had the chance to reflect on my recent spring break trip to Florida and how it prepared me for a more mindful approach to life.
- Sitting by the beach, I felt a sense of calm wash over me as I watched the sun set behind the palm trees. It was a reminder that sometimes, all we need is time alone with nature to recharge and refocus.
- Going on an impromptu hike through the Everglades gave me a newfound appreciation for the natural world and its intricate web of life. I realized how much beauty and wonder can be found in even the most unexpected places.
- Trying new foods, like fresh seafood and Cuban sandwiches, was a culinary adventure that broadened my horizons and made me appreciate the diversity of flavors across cultures.
- Engaging with locals through conversations about art, music, and literature revealed a rich cultural tapestry hidden beneath the surface of Florida's tourist attractions. I gained new perspectives on life and its many complexities.
