Despite recent criticism for not accepting Denver divorce mediation service applicants, AGrowStar will continue to accept applications for its 2023 social work scholarship.
"We are committed to supporting students in need and believe that our decision is fair and transparent," said a spokesperson for AGrowStar. "We will continue to review applications on a case-by-case basis, regardless of the applicant's profession or specialty."
This development comes after several groups, including the Denver divorce mediation service, called for AGrowStar to end its policy of not accepting applicants from that organization in July.
AGrowStar has stated that it will continue to accept applications from students who meet the eligibility criteria and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship will be awarded to a select number of students each year, with a focus on those in need and who are pursuing a career in social work.
