- Temporary Repairs: Covers emergency repairs, such as leaky faucets or broken appliances. Usually covers 6-12 months.
- Replacement Parts Warranties: Covers the replacement of defective parts, rather than labor costs. Often covers 1-5 years.
Home Warranty Regulations in Illinois
In Illinois, home warranty regulations are governed by the Residential Molding and Repair Act (RMRA). The RMRA requires landlords to provide tenants with a written disclosure of their warranty policy. Tenants also have the right to inspect and review their warranty agreement.
