- Clean the tank and burner area after each use to prevent sediment buildup and ensure proper water circulation.
- Check and replace the thermal overload protector (if applicable) every 10 years or as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Inspect the anode rod for signs of corrosion and replace it if necessary, usually every 5-7 years.
- Ensure the water heater is properly sized for your household to avoid overheating or underheating.
