Creating and Sharing Your Own Google My Maps

Create a new map in the Google My Maps editor by clicking on "My Maps" > "Add to map". You can then choose from various templates or start from scratch with an empty map.

To add content to your map, click and drag to create markers. You can also use shapes like circles, polygons, and lines to draw custom paths. For more complex designs, consider using Google My Maps' built-in tools such as labels, annotations, and images.

Sharing Your Map

You can share your map with others by clicking on "Share" > "Copy link". This will generate a unique URL that you can share via email or social media. You can also add custom permissions to control who has access to your map.

Want to make sure your map is private? Click on the three vertical dots next to each marker and select "Edit" > "Delete". This will remove all markers from your map, effectively making it private.

Exporting Your Map

You can export your Google My Maps as a CSV or PNG file by clicking on the three vertical dots next to each marker and selecting "Export" > "Save as". This will allow you to save your map in various formats, including interactive maps.

For more advanced users, consider using Google My Maps' API to integrate custom scripts and functionality into your maps. For example, you can use the Mapbox API to create high-resolution maps or add offline support.
