Tips For Homeowners After A Flooding Disaster

Prevention is Key

• Regularly inspect your home's foundation and walls for signs of weakness or damage. Identify areas prone to water infiltration, such as gaps around windows and doors.
• Keep your roof clean and clear of debris. A clogged gutter system can lead to water accumulation, increasing the risk of flooding.
• Store valuable items in high, dry areas, away from windows and doors. Consider waterproofing options like moldings or floors.

Aftermath

After the initial response has passed, focus on assessing damage to your home and property. Prioritize repairs to prevent further water entry. If you're experiencing financial difficulties, consider seeking assistance from local non-profit organizations or government agencies.
