Creating and Sharing Maps on Google My Maps
Create an account on the Google My Maps website by going to mymaps.google.com and following these steps:
- To create a new map, click on the "Create" button in the top right corner of the page.
- In the "Map title" field, enter the name you want to give your map. You can also add a description or a location to the map by clicking on the "Add a link" and "Add a note" buttons below it.
Customizing Your Map
Your map can be customized with various options, such as adding markers, polygons, and images. To add custom content to your map:
- You can click on the "Add a marker" button in the bottom left corner of the page and choose from over 30 different types of markers.
- You can also add multiple markers by clicking on the "Add more markers" button below the map area.
Sharing Your Map
Your custom map is stored in Google Drive, and you can share it with others by sending them a link or embedding it on your website:
- To access your map from the Google My Maps website, go to mymaps.google.com and click on the "Share" button.
- You can choose to share your map publicly or privately. If you want to share it with others, select "Public" as the sharing type.
