Creating and Sharing a Custom Google My Map

CUSTOM GOOGLE MY MAPS are interactive online maps that allow you to add markers, polygons, and other overlays on top of an existing map. In this article, we will show you how to create and share a custom Google My Map.

Creating a custom Google My Map starts with creating an account on the Google My Maps website. Once you have signed in, click on the "Create new map" button and select "Custom". This will open up a blank map editor.

Adding Markers

Markers are used to add specific locations to your custom map. To add a marker, simply click and drag it onto the map. You can also use the "Add marker" button in the top right corner of the editor to quickly create multiple markers.

Markers can be customized with various options such as label text, color, and size. You can also set the marker's visibility by clicking on the "Visibility" dropdown menu.

Adding Polygons

Polygons are used to add specific areas of interest to your custom map. To add a polygon, select it in the top right corner of the editor and click the "Add overlay" button. You can then drag and drop polygons onto the map to add multiple locations.

Sharing Your Custom Map

Your custom Google My Map is accessible by anyone with an internet connection. To share your map, simply copy the iframe code from the top right corner of the editor and paste it into a blog post or social media update.
